Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Valedictorians and Salutatorians will be announced in January of the senior year. The Administration will determine candidates based partly on the students’ rank in our software program and who will speak at Baccalaureate and Graduation.

To be considered for the honor, candidates:

  • Must be in attendance at KCS for a minimum of 2 completed years/4 complete semesters
  • Must be of outstanding Christian morals and values
  • Must have completed all community service hours
  • Must not exceed 10 absences from school or any class during their senior year (unless medical reasons approved by the administration)
  • Must be pursuing an Advanced Honors Diploma or Advanced Diploma
  • Must have taken the ACT and/or SAT
  • Must assume responsibilities attached to the honor itself
  • Must clear past due accounts in accounting and clear all library fines

Academic requirements for Valedictorian and Salutatorian candidates:

Valedictorians and Salutatorians will be selected based n their rank in their class.  All students ranked 1st will be Valedictorians and all students Ranked 2nd will be Salutatorians.

  • Valedictorian candidate(s) must have the highest cumulative four-year GPA in the senior class.
  • Salutatorian candidate(s) must have the second highest cumulative four-year GPA in the senior class.

Mr and Miss KCS and KCS Hall of Fame

During second semester, several seniors are selected for the Mr. and Miss KCS and the KCS Hall of Fame. The students included must have a 3.5 GPA and an ACT composite score of 20. They are then rated by faculty in the areas of leadership, attendance, character, Christian witness, academic application and extracurricular involvement. The top- rated students are included in the Hall of Fame. From this select group, the Administration and faculty then selects one boy and one girl to represent the school as Mr. and Miss KCS.

Student Government Association

Student Government Association

The SGA includes homeroom representatives from grades K through 12. Officers will be elected each fall from three groups (Elem; Middle; High). The President will come from the highest grade in each group. Vice president in waiting will come from second highest grade. The high school and middle school organizations are responsible for many activities including homecoming, food drives, etc.

To run for office and elected Officers must be:

  • of good moral character,
  • Attended KCS 1 year.
  • a positive representative for our School,
  • maintaining a 3.0 average in all subjects including conduct,
  • supportive of School Administration,
  • members must also uphold the standards school (Student Handbook) at all times.

Class Officers or SGA Reps

Students who hold offices in clubs and organizations at KCS are expected to be of the highest character. In addition to any club/organization criteria for holding an office, candidates must be students in good standing and exhibit exemplary morals and values. Students who do not meet these expectations will not be allowed to hold an office.  Final decisions of nominees and officers rest with School Administration. Students running for class officers or SGA Reps must have attended KCS for 1 year.

Mu Alpha Theta Club

The KCS Chapter of the Mu Alpha Theta Club is comprised of High School students in grades 11th-12th, who have completed three years of college preparatory math, including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II with a 3.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale (in those math classes),  will be eligible for induction. Mu Alpha Theta is  dedicated to inspiring keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school.

The KCS Chapter of the Beta Club exists to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.

LEADERSHIP – Developing the leaders of tomorrow

SERVICE – Demonstrating our motto: Let Us Lead by Serving Others

To be considered for induction into Beta Club, students must have a 3.5 overall GPA and be of outstanding character.  Final decisions concerning inductees rests with the Beta Club Sponsors and Administration. A student’s discipline record is taken into account when being considered for this honor.

Homecoming Court and Queen must be: (1 rep from 7th – 11th and 3 reps from 12th)

Prom King and Queen

To attend a KCS Prom, you must be a KCS student in 11th or 12th grade OR the date (9th grade-age 20) of a KCS student eligible to attend the prom. A date for the prom is considered someone of the opposite sex. Prom dresses from KCS students and dates must be pre-approved (picture) by Administration prior to Prom. Students expelled from KCS or other schools will not be allowed to attend Prom. Non-KCS students must complete and return a form agreeing to KCS policies and be signed by their parent before being allowed to attend the KCS Prom.
