Madeline Lee, Class of 2012, graduated from the University of North Alabama and playing softball winning the National Championship.

Ellen Scott, Class of 2013, is currently attending Belhaven University where she plays on the tennis team. She is student teaching and will graduate in May 2017.

Troy Mccay, Class of 2015, is currently attending Auburn University and majoring in Aerospace Engineering. He was selected as the Deputy Chief Engineer for the Inergrad Cubesat Program.

Katie Fowler, Class of 2012 , attended the University of North Alabama. She graduated with honors and is teaching kindergarten in Jemison, Alabama.

Alex Shaddix, Class of 2016, is a freshman at the University of Alabama and is undecided on her major. She is considering Early Childhood Education.

Karley Chamblee, Class of 2012, graduated from Birmingham Southern College in May 2016. She is in North Carolina completing an internship with the Service Corp.

Kaylee Toles, Class of 2016, works as an apprentice in a family-owned business as a cosmetologist.

Abbey-Paige Gray, Class of 2015, is attending the University of Alabama majoring in Accounting. She also served as a UA Parent Ambassador.

Micah Davis, Class of 2012, graduated from the University of Alabama with degrees in Psychology and Religious Studies. He plans to return in the fall of 2017 for his Masters.

Joshua Purvis, Class of 2014, is attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he is majoring in Neuroscience.

Alexis Fulmer, Class of 2014, is attending Troy University. She is a member of the Troy Band and would like to be a Spanish interpreter and an interpreter for the deaf.

Dustin Lykins, Class of 2015, is attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he is majoring in Neuroscience.

Melissa Ford Scott, Class of 2011, graduated from Belhaven University with a degree in Business Administration and is married to KCS graduate Jim Scott, Class of 2010.

James Thompson, Class of 2013, is attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is a member of the UAB Marching Band.

Haleigh Purvis, Class of 2011, graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with an English degree and worked with Teach for America for one year. She is currently enrolled in the Nursing program at UAB.

Emily Sanders, Class of 2012, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Samford University in May 2016.

Brody Miller, Class of 2013, is currently a senior at the University of Alabama where he plays in the Million Dollar Band as Section Leader. He will graduate in May 2017.

Jim Scott, Class of 2010, graduated from Belhaven University where he serves as Resident Director. He is married to KCS graduate Melissa Ford, Class of 2011.

Sydney Bayer, Class of 2015, is attending Auburn University and is currently majoring in Psychology.

Josh Purvis ’14 accepted the Presidential Scholarship from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is in the Honors Program majoring in Neuroscience. He plans to get his PhD and work as an Academic Physician.

Gavin Sumrall ’14 is a Sophomore at Birmingham-Southern College majoring in Business Marketing with a minor in Psychology. He is a Safety on BSC’s football team.

Logan Bean ’14 has completed his Year 1 at Auburn University and is transferring to Highlands College-Point University and plans to major in Ministry and Creative Art.

Taelar Holland ’14 is finishing Year 1 at Samford University and has declared a Pre-Pharmacy major. She plans to finish at SU with a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D).

C’Yontai Lewis ’14 is a Tight End at the University of Florida for the Gators’ football team. He is studying Criminal Justice in the Levin College of Law.

Blair Holsombeck ’13 attends the University of Alabama and will be entering her Junior Year in the Fall of 2015. She is majoring in History with a minor in Biology.

Brody Miller ’13 is a rising Junior at the University of Alabama. He is majoring in Mechanical Engineering and is also a Section Leader in the Million Dollar Band.

Kaylyn Ingram ’13 has completed her sophomore year at Faulkner State were she played softball. She plans to continue with her Secondary Education degree with an emphasis on Athletic Coaching. She has been offered to play and continue her degree at the University of Montevallo or she may attend the University of Alabama.

Luke Edge ’12 attends Auburn University in Honors College in the College of Science and Mathematics. He will be entering medical school and plans to be a cardiologist.

Katie Fowler ’12 is a rising Senior at the University of North Alabama and is pursuing her degree in Elementary Education.

Micah Davis ’12 will be starting Year 4 at the University of Alabama in the fall. He will graduate with a double major in Religious Studies and Philosophy.

Madeline Lee ’12 is a rising Senior at the University of North Alabama and is a vital member of their softball team. She will finish with a Degree from the College of Health, Physical Education and Recreation and continue her education to get her Masters in Physical Therapy.

Allie Hulon ’12 is in the Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing at Samford University. Her time spent in Clinical has helped her decide to specialize in Pediatric Oncology.

Ashley Bailey ’12 will start her senior year at the University of Montevallo in the fall. She will receive her degree from their College of Education with a concentration in Elementary Education.

Mandy Anderson ’12 will be starting Year 4 at the University of Alabama in the Fall of 2015. Her major of choice is Secondary Education with an emphasis in Mathematics.

Karley Chamblee ’12 attends Birmingham Southern College where she played softball her freshman year. She is working on a double major in English and Pre-Med, and plans to become a Pediatrician. She is studying aboard and enjoying a semester in Ireland.

Emily Sanders ’12 is in the Fellows Honors Program at Samford University. She is a rising senior and will receive her Bachelors Degree from the College of Arts and Science with an emphasis on International Relations.

Millie Opper ’11 graduated with a Bachelors’ Degree in Biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is working on her Masters’ Degree in Public Health after she receives her Masters she will transition into UAB’s School of Medicine for her Doctorate.

Haleigh Purvis ’11 graduated summa cum laude in May ’15 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she received her Bachelors’ Degree in English with an emphasis in Literature. Even before graduating she received several job offers and has decided to work for Teach for America.

Jessica Holt ’11 graduated from the University of Alabama in May ’15 with a Public Relations major and a double minor in Sociology and Creative Writing. She is presently working as the Web Relations Coordinator for Randall Reilly Publishing.

Josh Spinks ’11 has dedicated himself to protecting the peace and security of the United States of America. He is a Specialist in the U. S. Army and is stationed in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.

Jon Berry ’11 is working on his degree in the ever-growing field of Medical Coding. While working on his Bachelor’s Degree, he also works full time at one of the largest retail companies in the nation.

Melissa Ford Scott ’11 graduated from Belhaven University in Jackson Mississippi with a Bachelor of Business Administration magna cum laude honors in May of 2015. She is working as a Sales Associate at Bridal Path in Jackson. She is married to Jim Scott, a Kingwood alumni.

Payton Sumrall ’11 is a senior in Business Marketing at the University of North Alabama. He is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha and is the External Vice President of Theta Alpha as well as the Social Chair, Scholarship Chair, and a member of the Interfraternity Council.

Meredith Foster ’11 received her Bachelor’s of Science at the University of Alabama in Exercise and Sports Medicine with a concentration in fitness, nutrition and health promotion.

Madison Webb ‘11 graduated from the University of Montevallo in May 2015. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and will be moving to Scottsdale, Arizona where he has been hired as an Associate Benefits Advisor for a Human Resources Company. Madison is engaged to Chelsea Wright, an alumnus of Kingwood.

Sara Egbert ’10 graduated from the Mississippi State University with a Bachelors Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the College of Human Sciences and a Minor in Gerontology. She is working in Mississippi and planning her upcoming wedding to Greg Marble.

Kristen McDonald ’10 graduated in May 2015 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham She received her BSN (Nursing Degree) and is working in the Neonatal ICU at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. She is currently planning her wedding to Patrick Steele, a Kingwood alumnus.

Karlie Lopresti ’10 graduated in 2013 from Auburn University. She received her Bachelors of Science from the College of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences in Pre-Veterinary School Medicine Concentration. Currently, she is in her second year of Veterinary School and will graduate with a DVM in 2017.

Jim Scott ’10 graduated from Belhaven University in Jackson Mississippi summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in May 2014. He accepted a job with Belhaven University immediately after graduation. He is the Resident Director of the Men’s Dormitories. Jim is married to Melissa Ford Scott who graduated from Kingwood in 2011.

Ragan Spinks ’10 received her Bachelors of Science from Samford University’s Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing. She works as an RN in the Oncology/Palliative Care Unite at Princeton Baptist Medical Center.

Derrick Lykins ’10 enlisted in the United States Navy in 2012 and is currently a 3rd class petty office. He earned his Associates of Arts in Spanish degree from the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center and Presidio in Monterey, California while also studying for one month at the University del Sagrado Corazon in Puerto Rico. He is a Navy Cryptologist who and works as a Spanish linguist for the National Security Agency (NSA).

Meagan Boren ’10 graduated from Faulkner University in 2014 with a Bachelors of Art in Journalism. She is the Marketing and Brand Manager for an expanding agency located in Montgomery, Alabama.

Jenna Nagy ’09 graduated from the School of Nursing at Auburn University with summa cum laude honors. She works as an RN in the Emergency Room at Brookwood Medical Center. Currently she is studying for her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) through the University of South Alabama.

Lauren Carter ’09 received her Associates Degree in Medical Administration and Business Management in 2011. She works in the corporate offices at Retina Consultants of Alabama, PC, which is a group of Ophthalmologist who specialize in Retinal Disease.

Eric Marshall ’09 started his college career at the University of South Alabama before transferring to Jefferson State Community College in their School of Nursing Applied Science program. He is in his 4th Term of a five-term program.

Shayna Bourassa ’08 graduated in 2014 with a Bachelors of Science and Human Environmental Science from the University of Alabama. She is a Registered Dietitian and works at St. Vincent’s East.

Jordin McClendon Butts ’08 received her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology for the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is the Bookkeeper for a Zimmer Advantage, a company that manufacture and distributor of Orthopedic Implants. She is married to John Butts, a 2007 graduate of Kingwood.

Cassidy Burton McNish ’08 received her Bachelors Degree from the University of Montevallo’s College of Education. She taught at Kingwood for several years before accepting a teaching position at Calera Intermediate School.

Cam Spinks ’08 attended Samford University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration from the Brock School of Business. He lives in Nashville, Tennessee and is widely known as an up and coming singer-songwriter.

Ashley Shirley Terrell ’08 received her Associates Degree in Nursing for Jefferson State Community College. She works in the emergency room at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, Alabama.

Nathan Pearce ’08 graduated from the Else School of Management at Millsaps College where he received his Bachelors of Business Administration. Nathan’s entrepreneurial side blossomed during his Junior Year at Millsaps. Starting with a $4,000 investment he co-founded “The Fraternity Collection”, a wildly popular t-shirt clothing line, and it turned into $1.8 million in the first year of business. The company launched its website in 2012 and the co-owners were able to expand their philanthropic efforts. When customers place an order online they may donate 10% of their purchase to a charity of their choice. Fraternity Collection has donated over $95,000 to various charities on behalf of its customers. Not only is he the CEO and Co-Founder of The Fraternity Collection they are expanding their business with two more companies, The Barley Brand and the Factory of Main.

Ashlee Walters ’08 graduated from Huntingdon College in 2012 with a BS in Biochemistry. She is in Year 4 of Pharmacy School at Auburn University. She will be moving to Mobile soon to start her pharmacy rotations. She will finish with her Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D) after rotations.

Caleb Draper ’08 is a graduate of the Alabama Fire College Class of 2009 and a graduate of the Paramedic School in 2013. He is a full time firefighter and Paramedic with the Helena Fire Department.

Lauren Newton Jones ’08 graduated in 2012 from the University of Montevallo with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. Currently she is a full time toy chasing, finger nail painting, and comforter of three stay-at-home mom.

Casey Clark Mahan ’08 attended the University of Texas Tyler and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelors of Science Degree with an emphasis in Political Science. She received her Master’s Degree in 2014 from UT Tyler and is now an Academic Advisor and University Rep for Northwestern State University.

Kaitlin Rozof Thorsell ’07 graduated in 2012 from Huntingdon College with a BS in Religious Studies. She is in her 2nd Year of the Master of Divinity program at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary at Northwestern University with an emphasis in Cross-Cultural Studies.

John Butts ’07 received his Bachelors of Science Degree from the School of Engineering at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in the department of Materials Science and Engineering. He is an Engineer at Impact Metals. He is married to a 2008 Kingwood graduate, Jordin McClendon Butts.

Adrienne Marshall ’07 attended the Aveda School of Cosmetology and graduated in 2011. She is a licensed cosmetologist working at Sports Clips in Alabaster. She has been able to ministry to many people through her work as a cosmetologist.

Dee Marshall ’07 graduated from the University of Alabama with a BA with a major in Criminal Justice. Immediately after graduation she was hired as a Deputy Sheriff with the Jefferson County Jail.

Brooks Webb ’07 earned is BS in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration from Birmingham-Southern College. He also played baseball for BSC during his college career. He is the Director and General Manager of Team USA 15U National Team for USA Baseball. He oversees the USA Baseball 15U National Team and other various events including the 14U, 15U and 17U National Team East Championships (formerly the Junior Olympics) in Florida.

Andrew Pearce ’07 graduated from the College of Business with a BBA from Millsaps College in 2011. While attending Millsaps, he played football and baseball for his four years there. He is an Auctioneer and Sales Manager with Pearce and Associates Auction Company.

Susan Savage Davis ’07 has received her BSN from Jefferson State Community College in 2010 and works as an RN in Orthopedic Surgery at St. Vincent’s Hospital. She is married to Drew Davis, also a KCS alumnus.

Nick McNish ’06 graduated from the University of Montevallo from the College of Education with a degree in Kinesiology. His degree covers the “biomechanics and strength and conditioning to sports psychology and physical/occupational therapy”.

Lakin Spinks ’06 received his Business of Administration degree from the Brock School of Business at Samford University. He is the Project Manager with Western Real Estate Investors.

Adrian Carter Findley ’06 graduated from Jefferson State Community College with a degree in Medical Office Administration. She worked in the medical field for several years and married in 2009. She is now a stay-at-home mom with two beautiful daughters.

Emily Price Troutman ’06 is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she earned a BS in Nursing in 2010. She is a registered nurse and works in the NICU at Children’s and Shelby Hospital.

Maree Atchison Jones ’04 graduated from Samford University in 2016. She received a Bachelors of Arts with an emphasis on Theatre and Communications. She taught English and Communication Arts at KCS for several years before moving out of state for her husband’s job. Currently she is a Publicity and Communication Specialist with Luckie and Company.

Thomas Faircloth ’02 graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree from Central Bible College is Springville, Missouri. He is currently working as the Director of Operations with a large construction company in Flat Rock, North Carolina.

Jeni Alburl Parrish ’01 received her Bachelors of Science degree from the College of Arts and Science at the University of Montevallo. She continued her studies at UM and received her Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2007. She works as a Speech-Language Pathologist for Alabaster City Schools.

Anna Tennyson Nance ’00 attended Samford University where she received her Bachelors of Arts degree. She continued her education at the University of West Georgia where she graduated with her M.Ed degree in 2014. She works as a Therapist at Grace Harbour in Newnan, Georgia.

Chris Simpson ’99 received his Bachelors degree in Business Management from Samford University in 2003 and his Masters degree in Secondary Education from the University of Phoenix in 2004. He taught History and was the Varsity Basketball Coach at Kingwood for several years but he and his wife felt they were being called to their ministry oversees. They spent two years teaching in Taipei, Taiwan and the past five years they have been teaching at Seoul Foreign School in South Korea. Chris teaches History and is the basketball coach.

Faith Luker Flowers ’99 graduated from Samford University in 2014 and she received her BS in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Ed., Elementary Ed. and Elementary Special Ed. She has taught at Hoover City Schools for 11 years.

Susan Polhemus Parson ’99 received her BS from Samford University in 2013. Next she received her DMV (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) from Auburn University in 2007.

Heather Quiggle Klein ’99 graduated for the University of Alabama in Broadcast News. She worked as a reporter in Huntsville for two years, then Naples, Florida for two year, and for four years she worked in Las Vegas as a news reporter. In late 2011, she felt God leading her on a new path and moved to San Diego, California to pursue a career as an author. She has recently finished her novel and is talking with publishing agents. She is also the Connections Coordinator at her church.

Jeremy King ’98 went to the University of Alabama to major in Telecommunication and Film with a concentration in Broadcast News. He worked for ABC 33/40 as a newscast producer, reporter, and weekend news anchor for 10 years. Then Governor Robert Bentley asked him to join his staff as the Deputy Communications Director. From there he moved into the Office of Director of Communications. He transitioned to Regions Financial Corporation as VP of Media Relations, where he remains today. Jeremy said “Kingwood, without a doubt, equipped me with the skills and standards I needed to build upon my education at the collegiate level and launch a rewarding career.”

Scott Elliott ’97 attended the University of Montevallo here he received his Bachelors degree from the School of Education with a concentration in Kinesiology.

Jay Adams ’96 graduated with a BA in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. He is the Head Master at Cornerstone Christian School in Columbiana, Alabama.
